This family fun day is an opportunity to visit the UK’s first
national solar-powered circus, which hosts a fascinating range of
green-themed family entertainments including: circus shows, electric
car, bicycle and tricycle, scrap-store tent and a solar powered
merry-go-round. The Kent Energy Centre will be attending, offering
advice on energy efficiency and renewables technologies.
News: Low Carbon Communities Initiative
The Kent Energy Centre is working with six communities in Kent,
encouraging them to reduce their total carbon footprint:
- Eastchurch, Isle of Sheppey
- Elham, Canterbury
- Hadlow, Tonbridge and Malling
- Headcorn, Maidstone
- Goudhurst, Tunbridge Wells
- Saint Margaret's at Cliffe, Dover
The Kent Energy Centre has sent out Home Energy Checks to every
resident in these areas to help estimate their carbon footprints.
We have also helped to run a series of community events aimed to
raise awareness of the projects and attract volunteers.
The Low Carbon Communities Initiative is funded by Kent County
Council and includes four communities, with two futher projects
funded by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and Maidstone Borough
Council.
News: Free and Discounted Cavity Wall and Loft Insulation
There are currently great offers available on cavity and loft insulation
across Kent. Including free insulation for residents over 70 years
of age, and discounted insulation at a cost of around £199
for either measure available to everyone.
